The South Carolina State Library’s Talking Book Services will host an author talk by Michael Hingson for Blindness Awareness Month on October 18, 2018. Hingson, a blind survivor of the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center, will tell his life story and detail how he and his guide dog made it out of the Twin Towers alive.

Attorney Tootsie Dennis Kline, Miss South Carolina 1959-60, recorded Hush Now, Baby, written by her friend Angela W. Williams, for the SC State Library’s Talking Book Service. Kline grew up with Williams in Moncks Corner, S.C., along with Ceille Welch, a well known playwright in Columbia, who is mentioned in the book.
