As part of the USC School of Library and Information Science's annual Deans’ and Directors’ Lecture, Lee Rainie, director of internet and technology for Pew Research Center, will visit Columbia on Thursday, April 26. Rainie will discuss how librarians and journalists – as well as other groups dedicated to the advancement of truth – are at a crossroads in America.

Lander University’s Larry A. Jackson Library celebrates 50 years in the U.S. Government Publishing Office’s (GPO’s) Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP). The FDLP ensures the public has free access to Federal documents in participating libraries across the Nation.

Library Hosts National Library of Medicine Traveling Exhibit

The University of South Carolina School of Medicine Library is proud to host a nationally traveling exhibit entitled "And There's the Humor of It: Shakespeare and the Four Humors." The six banner exhibit is on loan to the library from the National Library of Medicine from July 25 through September 3, 2016, and is currently on display in the library near the circulation desk.

Two hundred and two years after the May 1814 birth of Henry William Ravenel, a 19th century South Carolina planter and botanist, a dedicated team from North Carolina and South Carolina universities and colleges has made his manuscripts and collections available online.

Clemson Literary Festival to be held April 6-8

Clemson University will host its ninth annual Literary Festival featuring world-renowned authors such as the revered Pulitzer Prize Winner and former Poet Laureate to the United States, Charles Simic. The festival aims to promote and celebrate the art and craft of writing. South Carolina Humanities supported this project with a Fast Track Literary Grant in November 2015.
