Charleston County library board to conduct national search for director

The Charleston County Public Library Board of Trustees announced today it would conduct a national search for a new director who will lead efforts to build five new libraries and renovate 13 other libraries.

Over the weekend of October 3–4, Hurricane Joaquin brought record-setting rainfall and catastrophic flooding to the Southeast, leaving South Carolina in a state of disaster. In the central and eastern part of the state, rivers overran their banks, washing out roads and bridges, breaching dams, and destroying property. To the south, high tides pushed water inland over sea walls.

RICHLAND LIBRARY TO ASSIST FEMA APPLICATIONS AT MAIN LOCATION

Richland Library plans to assist customers with FEMA applications during its normal hours of operation.  Initially, the FEMA assistance will be available at Richland Library Main (1431 Assembly Street). The plan is for other Richland Library locations, in the most impacted areas, to offer this assistance in the coming weeks.
