Charleston Friends of the Library Hosts its Annual That BIG Book Sale Event

Book lovers and bargain hunters are in for a real treat when the Charleston Friends of the Library host its 34th annual That BIG Book Sale, October 9-11, at the Omar Shrine Auditorium. Over 60,000 books, DVDs, CDs, books on CDs, sheet music and maps will be on sale to the public with prices starting at just $.50.

New faces are joining seasoned ones as two groups of volunteers commit their time and talents to the Richland Library Friends and Richland Library Foundation Boards. The library’s mission is to provide experiences that inspire, inform and entertain to improve the quality of life for everyone who interacts with the library.

Sherman gained a reputation for being ruthless.  Learn more about his tactics when the Laurens County Library, the Laurens District Chapter of the South Carolina Genealogy Society and the Humanities Council of SC present “Sherman’s Flame and Blame” at the Laurens County Library at 7:30 PM on September 10, 2015.

Author Brings History of “Orphan Trains” to York County Library

Christina Baker Kline, author of the novel “Orphan Train,” will discuss the history of orphan trains in the United States on Monday, September 28 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the York County Library in Rock Hill.   A book sale and signing will follow the program.  Seating is limited and registration is required for this free program.

Friends of the Beaufort Library to Hold Annual Waterfront Book Sale

This year’s Friends of the Beaufort Library Fall Book Sale will be held Friday, September 25th through Sunday, September 27th at the Henry C. Chambers Waterfront Park in downtown Beaufort. The Book Sale is the main fundraising event held by the Beaufort Friends, with all proceeds benefitting the Beaufort County Library System branches in Beaufort, Lobeco and St. Helena.
